Geotextiles are commonly used as a weed barrier and to provide filtration, separation, stability and reinforcement over which driveways, roads, embankments, pipelines, landscaping, gardening and where earth retaining structures are built. With high tensile strength and a permeable textile finish produced by interlacing sets of yarns or fibres, allowing liquids and gases to easily pass through, making it the ideal solution for many construction or gardening projects. The fabric performs best as a stabilizing and separating membrane when used under a subbase aggregate, preventing sinking caused by settlement of aggregate into the soil beneath. It can be used under hardscaping projects like patios, paths or decking, where they play a vital role in keeping different parts of the soil from mixing together and potentially destabilizing garden structures.
